Out of these three quarks, two quarks are down quarks while one quark is up quark. A down quark has -1/3 charge while up quark has +2/3 charge. Net charge on neutron = down quark+ down quark+ up quark Net charge on neutron = -1/3 -1/3 +2/3 Net charge on neutron = -2/3 + 2/3 Net charge on neutron = 0 Thus a neutron has no charge.
